Smart City ONE Geoportal

Need

A cost effective, Open-source Geo portal solution that integrates various information layers into a single platform for a Smart City and provides Spatial decision support tools to manage all its Assets, Revenues like Property Tax and Water Charges and Grievances from the citizens.

Spatial Decision Support for Municipalities:

  • Vassar Labs GIS Solution can be used to build a Geoportal that shows all the Geospatial assets of the city on one unified spatial dashboard
  • Each locality, ward and other geographical sub-divisional boundaries are shown in the Geo-Portal
  • Land parcels and buildings are shown in the Geoportal and can be searched by Building/Parcel ID, Address, Owner Name and Mobile Number.
  • Infrastructure like Roads and Rail Network are shown.
  • Utilities information like Drainage and Sewer Network, Drinking Water Tanks and Supply Network, Electricity lines, Street Lights and Transformers, Cell Phone towers for the Smart City are represented in the GeoPortal
  • Natural resources like Streams/Canals and trees are shown on the portal

  • Property tax, Water Charges: Property Tax collections in the entire City are highlighted with different colors based on targets with an option to search on Bill Collector responsible for collections, Building/Parcel ID, Address, Owner Name and Mobile Number. One can zoom up to a parcel or building and look at all the details.
  • Grievances: A spatial dashboard for the Smart City which can be zoomed all the way up to ward/locality within each municipality with performance of Citizen Grievance Redressal within and outside SLA are shown. The details of public officer in-charge is also provided and appropriate alerts are raised.

Drone based advisory on Unauthorized Construction/Deviations

Need

To use Drone Survey data to identify unauthorized construction or deviations to the city building code, extent of Green Cover, Road Cleanliness and Quality.

Solution
  • The Ortho image and the LiDar point-cloud data from drone survey data is processed using machine learning algorithms to separate ground and non-ground points.
  • Each 3D structure is segmented as a separate object considering various parameters like spatial distance, color etc.
  • The segmented data is then classified into different objects like Trees, Buildings, etc
  • Then algorithms are run to identify amount of Green Cover, Road Quality, Buildings and Deviations to Code, Sanitation issues on the roads etc.

The Geoportal provides the user with an interactive window slider to compare the buildings’ previously captured and presently captured data.

ULB Water Quality and Quantity Management


Need

To identify the Water Quality and Quantity supplied to a target area and to get visibility into NRW , Water Quality etc. for a city.

Solution
    Water Quantity:
  • Sensors are installed at critical locations in the water distribution network of a city to detect water quantity and quality.
  • City is divided into zones and visibility dashboards are provided to show the quantity of water sent to each zone.
  • Similarly Water quality issues are identified and highlighted in a dashboard.

Water Quality: A cost effective hardware setup helps in identifying the amount of Chlorine content with Geo-tagged locations. This is used in creating heat maps of water quality zones based on the Chlorine content.

Project Monitoring and Reporting


Need

Monitoring of multiple projects across different geographies and stakeholders on a near real time basis is a cumbersome process. There is a need for a solution to crowd source the status of different parameters of a project from the field and a centralized reporting system that can show the unified status.

Solution

Vassar Labs Project Monitoring and Reporting solution can be used to track and monitor different geographically spread projects from crowd sourced data from field staff using a mobile app and a cloud solution.

  • A mobile app in which different field officers responsible for different projects/modules are configured with logins.
  • Each User/Authority enters the status of the projects they are responsible for in a mobile app every day (or as required). The mobile app can take inputs in remote areas with no connectivity also and sends the data to the cloud when the mobile comes on the network.
  • The status of all the projects is consolidated and updated in a central dashboard.
